NYFW is over, and now I can put on sweatpants and sneakers. Just kidding, I had a lot of fun at the shows. Here’s my quick reviews of the second part of shows that I attended.
Custo Barcelona:
Shellacked hair and his-her outfit pairings were amusing in Custo’s bright/zany prints. There was definitely a lot of sparkle.

Kaelen:
I was absolutely in LOVE with the soft colors and prints on these feather-headpiece-clad models. Definitely one of my favorite presentations.

Bebe: The runway show at the Elle 360 Lounge was very much a cross between Little Bo-Peep and Marie Antoinette’s under-pinnings. The all white collection was a tad different for Bebe, but entertaining nonetheless.

Samantha Black: Well, the star studded show could not really overshadow the fact that the clothes were zany… yeah let’s stick with zany. Who was there: Angela Simmons, DMC, Omarion, Fabolous, Solange, among others.

Daisy Fuentes: Not very high end but refreshingly wearable clothing. I’m excited for her bohemian rhapsody spring collection of prints and maxi dresses.

Last week, at the start of NYFW I went to a few events tailored to fashion bloggers like myself.
On Wednesday, I went to Modly Chic’s Blogger Meet-up on the Top of The Strand Lounge. It was nice and intimate- I got to meet a handful of super nice bloggers including one whom I already follow: Amy of Stylish Year.

I wore an Old Navy army jacket ($18), a Kimchi Blue tank ($10) from UO, a magenta mini skirt ($5) from Old Navy, and Nine West suede booties from T.J.Maxx.

On Friday, I went to the highly-anticipated Blogger’s Night Out, which was held at Pranna Lounge. My friend Marissa of Style Cusp invited me and was one of the curators of BNO.
I also met Andrea of Blonde Bedhead (such a sweetheart!), Tieka of Selective Potential, and Kristy of Full Time Fabulous, the Sunglass Hut blogger.

Among the many sponsors, I enjoyed the Zoya nail polish sets that we received as well as the Lulu’s closet where we could spin to win items (I received a 40% off card).

I wore this AMAZING Badgley Mischka dress that I rented for $1. Yep, a dollar. My best friend and I visited Fresh in SoHo on Fashion’s Night Out where Rent the Runway set up a rental boutique where every dress was available for $1 for 4 days.
Could you believe it retails for $925 and usually rents for $125!?

NYFW is coming to a close and I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a handful of shows throughout Manhattan. Here are my thoughts on the shows, clothes, scenes, ect from Lincoln Center to Milk Studios to the Metropolitan Pavilion!
Billy Reid:
The bohemian models walked down a dimly lit runway under branches and canopies at Milk Studios. Lots of sheer, simple clothing.

Ruffian:
Set at the Stage at Lincoln Center, Ruffian took inspiration from equestrians and was both vibrant and sporty.

Samantha Pleet:
A unique set up at the Highline Studios partnered with aztec prints, this collection was very much geared toward the downtown audience.
Dean Quinn:
The presentation in Milk Studios was clean with bright corals and mint.

Daryl K:
In a 2-part studio in Greenwich Village, Daryl K models danced and stomped to the beat of drums. P.S. The girl on the left hear was pulling some ballerina moves!

L’uve:
This lesser-known show took place in Union Square and caught me by surprise. I loved all the flesh tones and ruffle/pleating details.

It’s about halfway through New York Fashion Week, and I have a strong feeling that I’m going to be seeing a lot more bright color in street style. Aside from snapping pics from my phone, I have prowled The Cut Blog and Refinery 29 to review some of the outfits seen outside of Milk Studios and Lincoln Center.
I loved the color at Peter Som SS 2012…

Get inspired by these bright colors:
